Interventional Radiology Technologist

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 4 × 10-hour days (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)

About the Role

The facility's Interventional Radiology department is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to assist with advanced image-guided minimally invasive procedures. You'll work alongside interventional radiologists performing complex vascular cases, including pulmonary thrombectomies, aortic aneurysm repairs (AAA, TEVAR, FEVAR), angiograms, embolizations, biopsies, drain placements, and stent procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate fluoroscopy and angiography equipment; troubleshoot imaging systems in collaboration with biomedical engineers
  • Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and specialty devices (laser, Penumbra, Inari, Shockwave)
  • Assist with complex wire exchanges, guidewire management, and over-the-wire balloon techniques
  • Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic status; administer contrast per physician orders
  • Manage vascular access sites, including sheath removal, hematoma assessment, and site care
  • Ensure radiation safety and ALARA principles; maintain procedural documentation and supply management
  • Respond to emergent cases and high-risk procedures; cross-train as departmental needs require

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology program
  • ARRT certification in Radiography (R) with Vascular-Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CI) credential required
  • State radiologic technology license (as applicable)
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology or Interventional Cardiovascular experience
  • Ability to respond to on-call emergencies (weekends and holidays included)
