NICU Registered Nurse — Travel Contract
Greenville, SC | Nights | 13-Week Contract
This high-acuity NICU position cares for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and beyond, encompassing a broad range of complex diagnoses and surgical conditions. The unit manages NICU Level II and III patients and requires a clinically experienced, confident traveler.
Shift Options:
- 4x12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), no call or
- 3x12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) with at least one 12-hour call shift bi-weekly
- Every-other-weekend coverage required
- Float to other NICU units or campuses may be required based on census needs
Patient Population & Diagnoses:
Premature neonates, HIE, RDS/RFS, abdominal wall defects (gastroschisis, omphalocele), TEF, duodenal atresia, diaphragmatic hernia, myelomeningocele, drug exposure/withdrawal, hypoglycemia, sepsis, and ROP
Procedures & Clinical Skills:
- Therapeutic hypothermia (full body cooling)
- Chest tube management
- Tracheostomy care and management
- High-frequency ventilation, conventional ventilator management, bubble CPAP, HFNC
- UAC/UVC placement and management
- Surgical anomaly post-operative care (non-cardiac)
- Avastin administration and laser eye surgery support
- Nitric oxide therapy, invasive hemodynamic monitoring
Requirements:
- Active RN license in South Carolina (or applicable compact license)
- Minimum 2 years of NICU II and III experience required
- Prior travel experience required; no first-time travelers accepted
- BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of electronic health record experience required
- Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted
Orientation: 40 hours, beginning on Mondays
