Surgical Technologist – Non-Certified

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Surgical Technologist – Non-Certified to support the surgical team in a fast-paced operating room environment. This entry-level role focuses on preparing surgical suites, managing sterile setups, and assisting during operative procedures.

Shift & Schedule

• 3 x 12-hour rotating shifts
• No weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements
• Variable start/stop times
• 8-week contract (56 weeks guaranteed hours at 24 hours/week minimum)
• Start date: August 3, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical setups; open supplies aseptically while controlling environmental factors
• Assist surgical teams by anticipating needs and passing instruments during procedures
• Monitor and maintain sterile technique; identify and report any breaks in aseptic protocol
• Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
• Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and preoperative preparation
• Participate in time-out procedures and safety checks
• Help with operating room turnover, cleanup, and equipment inventory
• Support new employee training and orientation

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Graduate of an approved OR Surgical Technologist course
• Minimum 1 year of related clinical or surgical scrub experience in an ambulatory surgery facility
• Current BLS certification
• Ophthalmology skills required
• Proficiency with internet, spreadsheet, and word processing software
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique and infection control standards

Preferred

• Certified Surgical Technician (CST)
