Registered Nurse

Medical-Surgical RN – Travel Contract | Morgantown, WV

Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts | 13-Week Contract

A busy medical-surgical unit with telemetry capability is seeking an experienced travel RN for night shift coverage. This unit cares for adult patients across a broad spectrum of acute medical conditions, including cardiac, respiratory, renal, and neurological diagnoses. The team is well-supported by an interdisciplinary staff including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (4x12 or 3x12 structure)
• 3 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
• Start Date: ASAP | 13-week contract with extension potential

Clinical Skills & Scope

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral IV management
• Blood product administration, heparin protocols, and PCA management
• CVA/stroke care, pre/post cardiac cath, and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and wound/wound vac care
• BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions and rapid response/code team activation

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• WV or Compact RN license required (pending accepted for submission)
• BLS and ACLS required through AHA; NIHSS certification required
• Permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility
• Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years

Additional Notes

• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Attendance expectations are firm — no more than 2–3 call-offs per contract
• Scrubs not provided
• 12-hour facility orientation prior to start
