Registered Nurse – General Surgery & ENT

Location: Atlanta, GA

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: September 14, 2026

About the Role

You'll provide skilled surgical nursing care on a general surgery and ENT unit that specializes in complex head and neck procedures, including care for patients with tracheostomies and laryngectomies. You'll manage a diverse patient population across general surgery, bariatric surgery, and otolaryngology, supporting pre- and post-operative care, wound management, and patient education.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor post-operative and acute surgical patients; respond promptly to changes in condition
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate documentation and infection control protocols
• Typical patient load: 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)

Requirements

• Active RN license in Georgia or current compact license
• Minimum 1+ years of medical-surgical nursing experience
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• CMSRN (Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse) preferred
• Ability to manage diverse acuity levels and diagnoses
