Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
Contract duration: 13 weeks
Available start dates: Every Monday
Scrubs: Navy blue
Location
Atlanta, GA (50-mile radius; local candidates only)
Requirements
- Active RN license (Georgia or compact license)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification (ONS) required
- Minimum 18 months of med-surg oncology experience within the past 3 years
- Strong IV access and vascular assessment skills (peripheral, PICC, port access)
Role Overview
You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult oncology patients on a general medical-surgical unit. Your responsibilities include:
- Administer chemotherapy and antineoplastic agents per physician orders and safety protocols
- Assess patients pre-, during, and post-treatment, monitoring for adverse reactions and side effects
- Manage vascular access (peripheral IVs, PICC lines, implanted ports)
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for oncology surgical patients
- Manage cancer and treatment-related symptoms (nausea, pain, fatigue, neutropenia)
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and self-care strategies
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary oncology team on care planning
- Adhere to safe handling protocols for hazardous drugs per OSHA/USP guidelines
- Document accurately in the electronic health record
