Emergency Department Nurse – Night Shift

Location: Decatur, GA

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3 × 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)

Schedule: Every other weekend; float to Clinical Decision Unit as needed

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: August 3, 2026

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
• 1+ years of Emergency Department experience
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) preferred
• Comfort with protocols and high-acuity, fast-paced environments

About the Role

You'll join the ED as a night-shift nurse, managing a diverse patient population across emergent and urgent conditions. Your responsibilities include:

• and rapid assessment of incoming patients
• Emergency interventions, trauma activations, and code response
• Medication administration and treatment per protocols
• Monitoring patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
• Collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
• Patient and family education on discharge and follow-up care
• Comprehensive charting and documentation
• Maintaining patient flow in a high-volume environment
• Infection control and de-escalation protocols
