Medical-Surgical Nurse – Night Shift

Assignment Details

• Location: Decatur, GA
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: August 3, 2026

Requirements

• Active RN license (Georgia or compact license required; must be in hand)
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• CMSRN (Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse) preferred
• Minimum 1+ years of medical-surgical nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must be willing to travel within a 50-mile radius

What You'll Do

You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients with a diverse range of medical and surgical conditions. Your responsibilities include:

• Assess and monitor patients, escalating changes in condition as needed
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams on care plans and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)
• Uphold infection control and fall prevention protocols
