Progressive Care Unit (PCU) | Travel RN | Asheville, NC

Night Shift | 13-Week Contract | Start Date: July 24, 2026

Join a cardiac-focused progressive care unit providing step-down level care for patients requiring closer monitoring than general med-surg but below ICU acuity. This unit specializes in post-procedure cardiac recovery, including post-EP lab and post-cath lab patients, with continuous telemetry monitoring and IV drip management.

Shift Details

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Float requirement: all Med-Surg and step-down units

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active RN license (NC or applicable compact)
• BLS and ACLS (required)
• PCCN preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 1 year PCU/step-down experience
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and IV drip administration
• Experience with sheath management a plus
• Charge experience preferred

Clinical Scope

• Continuous cardiac rhythm and vital sign monitoring
• Care for patients transitioning from ICU or at risk of deterioration
• IV drip titration and medication administration
• Rapid response and code participation
• Interdisciplinary collaboration on plan of care
• Patient and family education

Candidates must be flexible, calm under pressure, and comfortable in a fast-paced cardiac step-down environment. Charge experience is a valued asset for this role.
