Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Hartford, CT
Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Call Schedule: Every other weekend + rotating weekday call; one holiday call if it falls within contract dates
About the Role
The facility's interventional radiology suite is seeking an experienced technologist to support a high-volume program performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. You'll work alongside interventional radiologists managing both vascular and neuro cases—neuro experience is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during angiograms, embolizations, drain placements, stent placements, biopsies, and other IR procedures
- Operate fluoroscopy and angiography equipment during procedures
- Prepare sterile fields, instruments, and supplies
- Administer contrast media and monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status; alert the team to any changes
- Ensure radiation safety and ALARA principles are maintained
- Document procedures accurately in the medical record
- Provide post-procedure patient care and site monitoring
- Collaborate with the interventional team on procedural planning
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R); Vascular-Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CI) certification required/preferred
- State radiologic technology license
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum 1+ years of IR experience
- Demonstrated experience in both vascular AND neuro interventional cases
- Ability to respond to emergent on-call cases
The facility will provide training on its internal systems; prior knowledge is not required.
