Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location: Hartford, CT

Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Call Schedule: Every other weekend + rotating weekday call; one holiday call if it falls within contract dates

About the Role

The facility's interventional radiology suite is seeking an experienced technologist to support a high-volume program performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. You'll work alongside interventional radiologists managing both vascular and neuro cases—neuro experience is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during angiograms, embolizations, drain placements, stent placements, biopsies, and other IR procedures
  • Operate fluoroscopy and angiography equipment during procedures
  • Prepare sterile fields, instruments, and supplies
  • Administer contrast media and monitor patients for adverse reactions
  • Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status; alert the team to any changes
  • Ensure radiation safety and ALARA principles are maintained
  • Document procedures accurately in the medical record
  • Provide post-procedure patient care and site monitoring
  • Collaborate with the interventional team on procedural planning

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • ARRT certification in Radiography (R); Vascular-Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CI) certification required/preferred
  • State radiologic technology license
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Minimum 1+ years of IR experience
  • Demonstrated experience in both vascular AND neuro interventional cases
  • Ability to respond to emergent on-call cases

The facility will provide training on its internal systems; prior knowledge is not required.
