Registered Dental Hygienist – Columbia, SC

Position Overview

The facility's dental clinic is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist to provide routine prophylaxis, patient education, and clinical support. This is a day shift, Monday–Friday position with no weekend or holiday requirements—ideal for candidates seeking schedule stability.

Shift & Schedule

• Hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM; Friday, 7:30 AM–12:30 PM
• Days per week: 5 days (39 hours/week)
• Weekends: None
• Holidays: Closed on major holidays
• Local candidates welcome (up to 25 miles)

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform oral prophylaxis; remove hard and soft deposits and stains
• Polish tooth surfaces and apply topical fluoride
• Expose and develop radiographs
• Provide oral hygiene instruction, counseling, and nutrition/dietary guidance
• Review and chart medical and dental health history
• Take and record vital signs (blood pressure)
• Confirm appointments and maintain clinical documentation
• May assist in training dental hygiene students with minimal supervision

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene
• South Carolina Registered Dental Hygienist license
• No experience required; 1 year preferred

Additional Requirements

• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Orientation required; attend as scheduled
