Interventional Radiology Technologist – Charleston, SC

Position Overview

The facility's Imaging Department seeks an experienced Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist for a 13-week contract. You'll support a busy IR suite performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Schedule & Staffing

• Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM (with rotating weekday and weekend call coverage)
• Call Requirements: You'll respond to emergent cases on a rotational basis
• Floating: You may rotate to other imaging departments (CT, MRI, ultrasound, general radiology) as needed
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week

Required Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Radiography (R); Vascular-Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CI) certification required or preferred
• State radiologic technology license (as applicable)
• 1+ years of IR experience
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program

Core Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during angiograms, embolizations, drain placements, stent placements, and biopsies
• Operate fluoroscopy and angiography equipment during procedures
• Set up sterile fields, instruments, and supplies
• Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions
• Track vital signs and hemodynamic status; alert the team to changes
• Maintain radiation safety and ALARA principles
• Document procedures and supplies accurately
• Support post-procedure patient care and site management
