Labor & Delivery – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse for a night shift role (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule & Requirements
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Start date: September 21, 2026
- California RN license required (in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience in specialty required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN (Intermediate or Advanced preferred)
- COVID-19 vaccination required; no exemptions
Clinical Responsibilities
You will provide direct care to laboring patients, including:
- Continuous fetal heart rate and contraction monitoring; escalating concerns appropriately
- Assessment and support of high-risk OB conditions (preeclampsia, hemorrhage, fetal distress)
- Medication administration for labor induction, augmentation, and epidural support
- Assistance with vaginal deliveries and circulating support for cesarean sections
- Immediate newborn care and resuscitation support as needed
- Patient and family education on labor progress, pain management, and postpartum care
- Collaborative care with OB physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and NICU teams
- Documentation in the facility's charting system (training provided)
Additional Information
- California license must be presented at time of submission
- Required onsite courses (Assaultive Behavior and Fire Card) must be completed within 30 days of start
- Documentation deadline: 2 Mondays prior to start date
- No floating required for L&D roles
