Physical Therapist Assistant – 12-Week Contract
Location: Navasota, TX
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM (no weekends, no call)
Contract Duration: 12 weeks
Start Date: September 21, 2026
About the Role
You'll deliver quality physical therapy services in a critical access hospital setting, working across inpatient and outpatient departments under one facility license. You'll evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, implement therapy programs, and participate in discharge planning as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Patient Population & Clinical Scope
The facility treats a diverse range of diagnoses, including:
- Orthopedic injuries and sports-related conditions
- Neurological cases (approximately 10–15%)
- Wound care and VAC therapy
- Amputations
- General debility and skilled nursing patients
- Cervical/neck pain (non-acute)
Average patient length of stay is 14 days. You'll see approximately 7 treatment hours daily across both inpatient acute/observation and outpatient settings.
Requirements
- License: Current Texas and national PT license
- Certification: BLS certification
- Experience: Minimum 6 months of experience required; new graduates may be considered
- Preferred: Wound care experience (not required)
- Skills: Comfortable with both IP and OP patient care
What to Expect
- 40 guaranteed hours per week
- Float between inpatient and outpatient services
- Supportive nursing and therapy team
- Onsite orientation including Pathways learning, shadowing, and documentation training
- Two full-time staff PTs available to support you
- Specialized cases transferred to sister facility as needed
- Maroon scrubs required (not provided)
