Interventional Radiology Technologist

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to join the cath lab and interventional radiology team. You'll work in a high-volume, acute-care setting performing 15–20 cases per day, supporting both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a 4-room suite.

Shift & Schedule

  • 12-hour days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Every other weekend rotation
  • On-call requirement: 30-minute response time for 1 week night per rotation + 1 weekend EOW
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

  • ARRT certification in Radiography (R) with Vascular-Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CI) certification
  • State radiologic technology license
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Minimum 1+ years IR experience
  • Essential experience: Peripheral and coronary circulation, STEMI cases, Impella, IABP, and critically ill patient management

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate fluoroscopy and angiography equipment during minimally invasive procedures
  • Assist interventional radiologists with coronary interventions, laser atherectomy, rotablator work, stent placements, and hemodynamic support devices
  • Prepare sterile fields and manage instruments
  • Monitor patient vitals and hemodynamic status; alert the team to changes
  • Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions
  • Ensure radiation safety and ALARA compliance
  • Document procedures accurately in the medical record

Unit Details

This is a STEMI-receiving center with 24/7 cardiologist and respiratory therapist coverage. You'll work with laser, rotablator, IVUS, FFR, Angiojet, and other advanced technologies. Scrubs (teal blue) are provided. Orientation is 1–2 days.
