Position Overview

Join the rehabilitation team at the facility as a Physical Therapist Assistant on a 13-week contract. You'll work a 4 x 10-hour day schedule (7:00 AM–5:30 PM), Monday through Thursday, with every third weekend requirement.

Clinical Setting

The rehabilitation unit serves patients across multiple acute care areas, including cardiac, stroke, orthopedic, neurology, medical-surgical, ICU, and pediatrics populations. The facility is stroke certified and maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support. A hospitalist is on-site around the clock.

Schedule & Staffing

• Guaranteed 40 hours per week
• Every 3rd weekend (potential for every other weekend based on unit needs)
• Manager available Monday–Friday during business hours; a team leader covers when the manager is off
• PT staff coverage is maintained 7 days a week
• Minimal float expectations; floor-specific orientation provided (8 hours)

Requirements

• BLS Certification (required)
• Current California Physical Therapy Assistant license
• Minimum 2 years of specialty experience
• Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital experience
• COVID vaccination (required)
• Open to first-time travelers

Dress Code

Burgundy button-down long-sleeve shirt or polo-style (provided through hospital vendor if desired) with solid dark pants. No scrubs.

Additional Details

• Pediatrics and neonatal ICU experience not required
• Hospital allows up to 4 shift cancellations per 13-week assignment
• 8-hour floor-specific orientation included
