Labor & Delivery Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced L&D nurse for a 13-week night contract. You'll work 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), four days per week, providing comprehensive care to laboring patients and supporting deliveries in a busy obstetric unit.
Requirements
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification required
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience
- Experience with fetal monitoring, high-risk obstetrics, and vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor; assess and interpret fetal heart rate patterns and uterine contractions
- Administer labor induction/augmentation medications and provide epidural support per physician orders
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and provide circulating support for cesarean sections
- Manage high-risk obstetric complications (preeclampsia, hemorrhage, fetal distress) with appropriate interventions
- Provide immediate newborn care and resuscitation as needed
- Educate patients and families on labor progress, pain management options, and postpartum care
- Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and neonatal teams
- Document labor progress and interventions accurately in the medical record
- Provide compassionate support throughout the childbirth experience

- Guaranteed 48 hours per week
