Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – Night Shift

Facility & Schedule

The facility is seeking an experienced RN for its Medical-Surgical unit. This is a 13-week contract position working three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). Guaranteed 36 hours per week.

About the Role

You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical conditions, including cardiac, respiratory, diabetes, and post-operative cases. Your responsibilities include:

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments, including systems review
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, wound management, and pain control
• Monitor patient condition and escalate changes appropriately
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
• Follow infection control and fall prevention protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS certification (ACLS required)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification with Advanced Physical Skills Training
• NIHSS certification
• 2+ years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program

Preferred

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• CMSRN certification
