Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. This is a 18-week contract (13 weeks also available) providing night coverage.
Shift & Schedule
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Three 12-hour shifts per week
- Location: Cleveland, OH
Key Responsibilities
- Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and nursing care to patients with cardiac and acute conditions
- Interpret cardiac rhythms, identify arrhythmias, and escalate care as needed
- Administer medications, including cardiac drips and antiarrhythmics, per physician orders
- Assess, monitor, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
- Respond to rapid response and code interventions
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatment, and lifestyle modifications
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
- Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (permanent Ohio or compact state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 18 months of permanent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience
- BLS and ACLS certification (active and in hand)
- NIHSS preferred
- Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency required
- One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director required (from past 12 months)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
Requirements to Note
- One manager/supervisor reference required for submission
- COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Background check and drug screen required
- All certifications must be active at submission
