Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse – Night Shift

Location: Cleveland, OH

Shift: Night, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Contract Duration: 18 weeks (13 weeks also available)

Start Date: September 25, 2026

About the Role

Join the facility's medical-surgical telemetry unit to provide acute cardiac monitoring and nursing care on the night shift. You'll work with patients requiring continuous cardiac surveillance, rhythm interpretation, and management of cardiac conditions alongside other acute diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and interpret rhythms; identify and escalate arrhythmias
  • Administer cardiac medications, including drips and antiarrhythmics, per physician orders
  • Assess and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
  • Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, and the interdisciplinary team
  • Respond to rapid response and code situations as needed
  • Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions and treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation and infection control/fall prevention protocols
  • Manage a typical patient load per facility guidelines

Requirements

  • Active RN license in Ohio or compact state (required at time of submission)
  • Minimum 18 months permanent telemetry/medical-surgical experience (non-negotiable)
  • BLS and ACLS certification (active and in hand); NIHSS preferred
  • Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency and cardiac rhythm monitoring experience
  • One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director from past 12 months (no peer references)
  • BSN preferred; ADN accepted

Additional Information

Orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments (2 attempts to pass). Annual competency modules required for extended or returning contracts. Background check must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing.
