Operating Room RN – 16-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility's Operating Room is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 16-week contract to provide circulating and scrub nursing support across multiple surgical specialties. This is a day shift role (10:30 AM – 9:00 PM), four 10-hour days per week.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of OR experience with demonstrated competency in general surgery, neurology, transplant, orthopedics, and gynecology (hard stops—please confirm experience before applying)
- Active RN license in Georgia or compact state
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Travel experience required
- Able to function in circulating and/or scrub roles across surgical specialties
Clinical Scope
You'll work in a general OR managing cases across bariatrics, urology, neurology, ENT, plastics, transplant (solid organ), ophthalmology, general surgery, gynecology, and orthopedics. Duties include sterile field preparation, pre-operative verification, instrument/sponge/needle counts, patient positioning and prepping, intraoperative monitoring, supply management, and accurate documentation.
Schedule & Expectations
- Shift: Days, 4 × 10-hour shifts (10:30 AM – 9:00 PM)
- Float required: Within facility scope of practice and to outpatient as needed
- Weekend & call: Variable—to be discussed at interview
- Time off: Maximum 7 days RTO per contract; blackout dates: 11/23–11/29 and 12/21–1/3 (no holiday RTO approved)
- Orientation: 36 hours (non-billable, included in contract length calculation)
