NICU Registered Nurse – 13-Week Contract
Shift & Schedule
Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
36 guaranteed hours per week
Every other weekend
Contract duration: 13 weeks
About the Role
The facility's Level III Neonatal ICU provides intensive care for critically ill and premature infants. You'll deliver comprehensive nursing care to high-risk neonates requiring continuous monitoring, advanced respiratory support, and specialized developmental care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to critically ill and premature infants, including those requiring ventilator support, CPAP, and umbilical line management
- Assess and respond to rapid changes in neonatal condition; escalate care as needed
- Administer medications and titratable drips using precise neonatal dosing
- Manage thermoregulation, feeding, and developmental care specific to premature infants
- Perform resuscitation interventions and rapid response as needed
- Collaborate with neonatologists and interdisciplinary teams on patient care plans
- Support families with education on infant condition and treatment, including kangaroo care
- Maintain infection control and safety protocols
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license (state or compact)
- BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Minimum 1 year NICU experience
- Experience managing high-risk neonates, ventilators, and advanced equipment
Preferred
- RNC-NIC certification
- 2+ years NICU experience
- BSN degree
Float Rotation
May float to pediatrics, PICU, or mother-baby (infant care only)
