Oncology Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for a 13-week contract on the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). You'll provide compassionate, skilled nursing care to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and biotherapy in a dynamic oncology setting.
Shift & Schedule
- 3 × 12-hour night shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Start date: Every Monday beginning September 21, 2026
- Navy blue scrubs
Requirements
- Active RN license (Georgia or compact license required)
- BLS certification
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification (ONS) required
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) preferred
- Minimum 18 months of oncology specialty experience within the past 3 years
- Strong IV access and vascular assessment skills (peripheral, PICC, port access)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
Key Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and antineoplastic agents per protocol
- Assess patients pre-, during, and post-treatment; monitor for adverse reactions
- Manage vascular access (peripheral IVs, PICC lines, implanted ports)
- Manage treatment-related symptoms (nausea, pain, fatigue, neutropenia)
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and self-care
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary oncology team
- Document assessments and treatments accurately
- Adhere to safe handling protocols for hazardous drugs (OSHA/USP <800>)
