Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical Unit

Location: Atlanta, GA

Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: September 21, 2026

About the Role

The facility's Medical-Surgical unit is seeking an experienced RN to provide comprehensive care to adult patients with diverse diagnoses and varying acuity levels. You'll manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift, delivering direct care, medication administration, and coordinated treatment planning across medical and surgical populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient conditions; escalate changes in status promptly
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound assessment and pain management
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Perform patient and family education on conditions, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams on care planning and discharge coordination
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact license accepted)
• BLS certification; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1+ years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Ability to manage diverse patient caseloads across varying acuity levels
• Proficiency with IV lines, PICC lines, lumbar punctures, and conscious sedation procedures
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy

• CMSRN certification
