Neuroscience ICU – Travel RN | Asheville, NC

Night Shift | 13-Week Contract

This travel RN opportunity is in a Neuroscience ICU located in Asheville, NC, caring for high-acuity neurological and neurosurgical patients. The unit specializes in post-thrombectomy, tPA, and post-neurosurgery care, making this an excellent fit for nurses with a strong neuro critical care background.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:15 AM
• Self-scheduling with unit needs considered
• 6 weekend shifts per scheduling period
• 36 guaranteed hours per week

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start date: August 17, 2026

Clinical Scope

The unit manages critically ill neurological patients requiring intensive monitoring and intervention, including:

• CRRT management
• Bedside external ventricular drain (EVD) care
• Arterial line monitoring
• Titratable vasoactive and sedation drips
• Hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management

Travelers float first to other ICUs or step-down units as needed.

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS and ACLS required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU/critical care experience
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
• CCRN preferred

Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

Candidates with neurology ICU experience, particularly caring for post-thrombectomy, tPA, or neurosurgery patients, are strongly preferred.
