Medical-Surgical Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Medical-Surgical Nurse for a 13-week contract on the night shift. You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses, from acute post-operative cases to chronic disease management.
Shift & Schedule
- 3 × 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- 36 hours per week
- Start date: September 21, 2026
Requirements
- Active RN license (Georgia or compact license)
- Minimum 1+ year Med-Surg nursing experience
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted
- CMSRN certification preferred
- Ability to manage a diverse patient caseload with varying acuity levels
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and manage treatments per physician orders
- Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
- Care for patients with cardiac, respiratory, and other chronic/acute conditions
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care and discharge planning
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EMR
- Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
- Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
