Critical Care Nurse – Night Shift
Location: Atlanta, GA
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 hours/week | 13-week contract
About the Role
The facility's emergency department operates an overflow critical care unit serving high-acuity patients requiring intensive monitoring and support. You'll provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients on ventilators, vasopressor drips, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor critically ill patients; escalate changes in condition promptly
- Administer medications, including titratable vasoactive and sedation drips
- Manage advanced life support equipment (ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, hemodynamic monitors)
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on patient care plans
- Perform rapid response and code interventions as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
- Educate patients and families on condition and treatment
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 1+ years ICU/critical care experience
- Proficiency with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and titratable drips
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- CCRN certification preferred
- Travel nursing experience preferred
