Critical Care Nurse – Night Shift

Location: Atlanta, GA

Schedule: 3 × 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 hours/week | 13-week contract

About the Role

The facility's emergency department operates an overflow critical care unit serving high-acuity patients requiring intensive monitoring and support. You'll provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients on ventilators, vasopressor drips, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor critically ill patients; escalate changes in condition promptly
  • Administer medications, including titratable vasoactive and sedation drips
  • Manage advanced life support equipment (ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, hemodynamic monitors)
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on patient care plans
  • Perform rapid response and code interventions as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
  • Educate patients and families on condition and treatment
  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license (state or compact)
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Minimum 1+ years ICU/critical care experience
  • Proficiency with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and titratable drips
  • BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
  • CCRN certification preferred
  • Travel nursing experience preferred

This is a fast-paced environment requiring strong clinical judgment and the ability to manage complex patients in a dynamic setting.
