Emergency Department Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll work the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) on a 3 × 12-hour schedule, providing high-quality care in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency environment.
Requirements
- Active RN license (Georgia or compact state license)
- Minimum 1 year of ER experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- NIHSS certification required
- TNCC or CEN certification preferred
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- Comfort with protocols and high-acuity emergency conditions
Key Responsibilities
- and rapidly assess incoming patients to determine acuity and prioritize care
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with emergent and urgent conditions
- Respond to trauma activations, codes, and acute deterioration
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders
- Manage patients through the full continuum of care—admission, transfer, or discharge
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on patient plans
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
- Uphold infection control, safety, and de-escalation protocols
- Support patient flow in a high-volume setting
