Emergency Department Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll work the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) on a 3 × 12-hour schedule, providing high-quality care in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency environment.

Requirements

• Active RN license (Georgia or compact state license)
• Minimum 1 year of ER experience
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• TNCC or CEN certification preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• Comfort with protocols and high-acuity emergency conditions

Key Responsibilities

• and rapidly assess incoming patients to determine acuity and prioritize care
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with emergent and urgent conditions
• Respond to trauma activations, codes, and acute deterioration
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders
• Manage patients through the full continuum of care—admission, transfer, or discharge
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on patient plans
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
• Uphold infection control, safety, and de-escalation protocols
• Support patient flow in a high-volume setting
