Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse

Location: Atlanta, GA

Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM); 36 hours/week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: September 14, 2026

About the Role

The facility is seeking an experienced Med-Surg RN to join a surgical unit caring for patients across general surgery, bariatric surgery, head and neck surgery, and ENT specialties. This role requires strong clinical skills and the ability to manage complex post-operative patients, including those with tracheostomies and laryngectomies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound assessment, pain management, and complication monitoring
• Assess patients, monitor condition changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care and support discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record
• Manage typical patient loads of 4–6 patients per shift
• Uphold infection control and fall prevention protocols

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact license)
• Minimum 1+ years of Med-Surg nursing experience
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• CMSRN certification preferred
• Ability to manage diverse patient acuity and diagnoses
