Emergency Department Nurse – Nights

Location: Decatur, GA

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: August 3, 2026

Shift: Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

3 × 12-hour shifts per week | 36 hours/week

Every other weekend | Float as needed to the Clinical Decision Unit

About the Role

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN to join a fast-paced, high-acuity team. You'll manage a diverse patient population—from emergent trauma and codes to urgent care cases—providing rapid assessment, intervention, and coordination of care in a high-volume environment.

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform initial and comprehensive assessments to prioritize patient care
• Respond to trauma activations, codes, and acute deterioration with appropriate interventions
• Administer medications, treatments, and nursing care per protocols and physician orders
• Monitor patients and manage patient flow through admission, transfer, or discharge
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the care team on treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record
• Maintain infection control, safety, and de-escalation standards

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact license)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1+ years of emergency department experience
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• TNCC and/or CEN preferred
• Must live within 50-mile radius (no relocation/local travel candidates)
