Labor & Delivery RN — Travel Contract | Charlotte, NC

Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 18:45–07:15 | 13–26 Week Contracts

This is a high-volume, high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit serving a broad obstetrical population — from and antepartum care to active labor, delivery, and postpartum. The unit manages obstetrical patients from 16 weeks gestation and beyond, including complex high-risk cases. Double labor assignments are a daily reality, and the pace is consistently demanding.

Clinical Scope:

  • Intrapartum and high-risk antepartum/postpartum care
  • Obstetrical : antenatal fetal surveillance, IV hydration, medication administration
  • Scheduled and unscheduled cesarean births; rescue cervical cerclage
  • Immediate newborn care and neonatal resuscitation support
  • Management of high-risk conditions including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, and fetal distress

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years L&D experience; 3 years strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in a high-volume setting (300+ births/month) is required
  • Circulate/OR experience strongly preferred
  • Active RN license (NC or compact); compact pending accepted at submission
  • Certifications: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate required (C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN)

Schedule & Logistics:

  • Night shift: 18:45–07:15
  • Every other weekend required (minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
  • No call requirement
  • Float required within the high-risk women's services unit as needed
  • Scrubs provided (blue)
  • 24-hour orientation
  • First-time travelers accepted with qualifying high-volume experience

Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered). COVID-19 vaccine not required.
