Endoscopy RN – Akron, OH

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a registered nurse for its endoscopy department. You'll support procedures in a fast-paced, procedural environment while providing direct patient care before, during, and after endoscopic interventions.

Shift & Schedule

• Days: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (exact times vary; details discussed at interview)
• Contract: 13 weeks
• Weekends: No routine weekend shifts; on-call only
• Call Coverage: 1–2 weekday call shifts per week (after shift until 7:00 AM); 1–2 weekend 24-hour calls per 6 weeks
• Response Time: 1 hour

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 18 months of permanent endoscopy nursing experience
• License: Active Ohio RN license or compact state license (must be in hand at submission)
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS (active, current)
• Vaccines: COVID-19 and flu required (medical/religious exemptions available)
• Background: References required from manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in endoscopy from past 12 months; clean background check

What You'll Do

Support endoscopic procedures, including pre- and post-procedure nursing care. You'll work in a collaborative team environment with physicians and clinical staff.

What to Expect

Pre-start modules required (6–15 hours average); ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments completed during orientation. Candidates extending beyond initial contract may have additional annual competency requirements.
