RN – Medical-Surgical Nursing | Night Shift

About the Role

Join the medical-surgical unit as a night shift RN providing comprehensive care to adult patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions. You'll assess, monitor, and respond to patient changes, administer medications and treatments, manage pre- and post-operative care, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team on discharge planning. Patient education and accurate EMR documentation are key responsibilities.

Schedule & Contract

  • Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Hours: 36 guaranteed per week
  • Days: Rotating; every-other-weekend requirement
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: September 14, 2026

Requirements

  • Active RN license (state or compact)
  • BLS (AHA) required; ACLS and PALS (AHA) required
  • ADN or BSN
  • 1+ years of medical-surgical nursing experience
  • CMSRN certification preferred
  • Ability to manage 4–6 patients per shift with varying diagnoses and acuity levels

Important Notes

  • Must reside within 50 miles of the facility (proof of address via driver's license required)
  • Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care areas
  • ED experience preferred but not required
  • Typical patient load: 4–6 patients per shift
  • Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment per cancellation policy
