RN – Medical-Surgical Nursing | Night Shift
About the Role
Join the medical-surgical unit as a night shift RN providing comprehensive care to adult patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions. You'll assess, monitor, and respond to patient changes, administer medications and treatments, manage pre- and post-operative care, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team on discharge planning. Patient education and accurate EMR documentation are key responsibilities.
Schedule & Contract
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Hours: 36 guaranteed per week
- Days: Rotating; every-other-weekend requirement
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 14, 2026
Requirements
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BLS (AHA) required; ACLS and PALS (AHA) required
- ADN or BSN
- 1+ years of medical-surgical nursing experience
- CMSRN certification preferred
- Ability to manage 4–6 patients per shift with varying diagnoses and acuity levels
Important Notes
- Must reside within 50 miles of the facility (proof of address via driver's license required)
- Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care areas
- ED experience preferred but not required
- Typical patient load: 4–6 patients per shift
- Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment per cancellation policy
